Climate Adaptation & Story-Based Science Education
Helping educators make climate science feel grounded, human, and actionable.

Climate science can feel distant, overwhelming, or disconnected from daily life, especially for students who don't see themselves reflected in it. Isadora Blooms changes that.

Through sensory engagement, storytelling, and lived experience, we translate climate and environmental science into learning that feels real, not just known but felt. Rather than leading with data, we lead with the senses, helping students and educators move from climate anxiety toward climate adaptation: understanding how ecosystems, communities, and people are already learning to adjust and thrive amid rapid change.

This work centers culturally relevant teaching, ensuring students of all backgrounds see climate leadership as something that includes them.

Who This Is For

  • Schools and districts seeking culturally responsive climate education

  • Educators looking to move beyond climate anxiety toward hope and agency

  • Youth programs and community-based organizations working on environmental topics

What We Offer

Offerings may be adapted based on age group, setting, and learning goals and include:

  • Sensory-based climate workshops for educators (single session or series)

  • Storytelling-centered facilitation training for navigating hard climate conversations

  • Culturally relevant curriculum design rooted in lived experience and local observation

📝Available as single workshops, half-day trainings, or ongoing school/district partnerships.

The Four Core Workshops

Each workshop stands alone and builds toward the next. They are designed as a toolkit system, not a fixed curriculum, so educators leave able to build what their own students need, rather than simply deliver what they were handed.

  1. Senses & Story — Deepening Climate Conversations Across Differences Sensory: First facilitation tools for grounding hard climate conversations in lived experience.

  2. Adaptations in the Natural World — How Plants & Animals Adapt:  From the expected playbook (migration, dormancy, decline) to the surprising and hopeful (coral resilience, microplastic-digesting organisms) close to home, using local city and state species.

  3. Whose Data Counts — Community Knowledge, AI Tools & Climate Advocacy: An ethical framework for using AI and data tools responsibly, scoped to real school funding and access constraints.

  4. Green Infrastructure, Close to Home — Human Adaptation Through Growing & Greening: Exploring hydroponics aquaponics, school gardens/farms, green roofs, rain gardens, and forestry as hands-on, climate-resilient practice.

Choose Your Format

🌱 90-Minute Workshop — A focused introduction to one topic. Best for staff meetings, single PD sessions, or a first introduction.

🌿 Full-Day Deep Dive — A full day on one topic, with grade-band breakouts, extended discussion time, and hands-on coaching toward a finished toolkit. Best for dedicated PD days.

🌳 4-Day Institute — All four workshops, one per day, building toward an integrated, classroom-ready capstone project. Best for districts and schools ready for deep, lasting integration.

Our Philosophy

We believe climate education flourishes when it is rooted in:

  • Story over statistics alone

  • Connection over detachment

  • Culture and lived experience over one-size-fits-all science communication
