Meet Our Founder

Environmental Educator & Climate Storytelling Strategist

Shari Rose has spent nearly two decades getting her hands dirty (literally and figuratively) in classrooms, gardens, and community spaces across New York City. She's an environmental educator, cultural learning designer, and herbal folk practitioner who believes real expertise comes from varied life experiences.

Shari's path into outdoor education started in 2008 at Brooklyn Rescue Mission Urban Harvest Center, mentoring a team of high schoolers through the launch of a community farmers market and growing food in an urban farm. From there, the work kept growing.... sustainability outreach and nutrition programming during her time at Vanderbilt, urban farming and garden education with Green Guerillas, Children's Aid, Queens Botanical Garden, and a stretch as a NYC Special Education Teacher, where she learned firsthand how to make lessons click for every kind of learner.

In 2015, she joined Brooklyn Botanic Garden, helping classroom teachers bring hands-on, sustainability-focused lessons into their own curriculum. Then spent seven years at City Parks Foundation, where she helped grow one of NYC's largest outdoor education programs, reaching over twenty  K-8 schools a year and training hundreds of educators through accredited professional development. She later stepped into an Associate Director role, overseeing program quality across the whole city.

In 2023, she shifted her focus to Isadora Blooms, the curriculum studio she founded to bring climate and environmental education into classrooms in a way that actually sticks.

Shari holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Human Ecology from Vanderbilt University, where she was a Posse Foundation Scholar, and studied Urban Agriculture through Farm School NYC.
